What is pigmentation reduction?
Pigmentation caused by aesthetic irregularities such as redness, age spots, melasma, thread or spider veins and hyperpigmentation can be treated with a combination of Lumecca and Cynosure laser.
Lumecca works by heating the pigmented area and destroying the cells to clear them. The body eliminates the damaged cells and replaces them with new fresh rejuvenated skin cells. The area darkens and pebbles off over a week or two post treatment. This not only clears the pigmentation but also dramatically improves the quality of the skin. Leaving you rejuvenated and glowing, as well as pigment free!
The Cynosure laser blasts the pigmentation with a flash of light which draws the pigmentation to the surface and kills the pigmented cells. The intensity of the light is highly effective and leaves the pigmentation darkened ready to peel off. We recommend you have a course of 3 treatments and very often use a combination of the Lumecca and laser treatment together. We combine these advanced technologies to help our patients receive the outstanding results they deserve.

1. Your Consultation
Prior to treatment, you will have a consultation with your practitioner who will go through the treatment process with you and complete a treatment form with you. You will have a patch test before treatment . Treatment will start 2 weeks post test patch for laser but Lumecca can start immediately.

2. Treatment Plan
Your treatment area will be cleansed and prepared and protective goggles applied. A handheld device is used to send the light to the affected area and the skin will feel slight flashes of heat that is a prickly sensation.

Stay hydrated and go about your normal daily routine. Apply a broad-spectrum SPF.

Laser pigmentation removal targets melanin in the skin using sprecialised light energy. When the laser’s light energy is absorbed by the pigmented cells it breaks the melanin into smaller fragments. Your body’s natural healing processes then flush out or gradually absorb these fragments. If we use the Lumecca IPL treatment the pigmentation is drawn out of the skin and pebbles off from the surface over time.
The area may darken initially before it clears. Sometimes the treated area just disappears very quickly, whilst others can take 1 to 2 weeks to clear.
Yes. It is delivered using medical-grade machines. A consultation is essential to confirm the treatment is suitable for each individual.
Patients can have a single treatment or a course, depending on individual need. The frequency of treatments is to each patient.
