LASER HAIR REMOVAL

Laser Hair Removal | Non-Surgical Cosmetic Treatment | Aspire Clinic

elitelogo

Unwanted hair is a common problem for everyone, hair removal methods such as shaving, waxing and plucking are all time consuming, inconvenient and often painful.

These at home methods tend to only give temporary results, so it’s no surprise that laser hair removal is one of the most popular non-surgical cosmetic treatments in the UK. At Aspire we use the state-of-the-art Elite+ laser system and Cynosure® Elite+™ to permanently remove unwanted hair, skin pigmentation and unsightly thread veins. Laser technology removes the need to constantly shave and wax unwanted hair, allowing you to look and feel your best. This can be carried out on the face, legs, back or bikini line to give you the results you want!

How Laser Hair Removal Works

Our Elite+ laser device emits light energy through the skin which gets absorbed by the pigment in the hair follicle and hair shaft. This light energy damages the pigmented hair follicle and impairs its ability to grow. Hair follicles in the anagen phase will have more pigment, therefore absorbing more light energy and responded best to last treatment.

It’s important to have multiple laser treatments to treat your hair during its active growth stage.

Laser Hair Removal - Before and After

Benefits of the Elite+ and Cynosure® Elite+™

Fast

The Elite + laser has spot sizes of up to 24mm to provide fast treatments across large areas. The laser also offers a smaller spot size for smaller areas such as the upper lip

Effective

The Elite+ has two different laser wavelengths to treat patients of all skin types and tones.

Safe

Elite+ has been used in clinics for many years and is proven to be safe in many clinical publications.

What to Expect

Before coming in for your treatment you must make sure the area is freshly shaved, this allows for more energy to be delivered to the hair follicles. During your treatment your practitioner will guide the device over the treatment area, you may feel cold air throughout the treatment and you will hear a slight beep as the laser delivers the light energy to your skin.

It is normal to feel a slight snapping on your skin, like a rubber band, as the energy is being delivered.

After your Treatment

The hair follicles that absorbed energy from the laser will be damaged and any hair present in the follicles during treatment will fall out over the next couple of weeks. This will also impair future hair growth from this area. As the follicles in the transitional and resting periods return to the active growth phase, you will notice some regrowth but not as thick as before. This regrowth will become thinner and lighter after each treatment.

How your Hair Grows

Hair grows within deep hair follicles, and grows in a three-phase cycle.

Anagen Phase

This is when the hair actively grows, this can last several months and is the best phase to start laser hair removal.

Catagen Phase

This is when the hair bulb regresses and begins to shrink.

Telogen Phase

This phase can last a few months and is when the hair is resting. The hair is released from the follicle and will then cycle back through the Anagen and Catagen phases.

Hair growth varies between each individual, but the length of the hair growth cycle is dependent on the area of growth. Hair on your head will have an active growth phase of several years, whereas body hair will have an active growth phase of a few months.

Laser Hair Removal FAQ

Am I a good candidate for laser hair removal?

Different lasers can effectively treat different skin types. Our laser can be used on a wide range of skin types from very light to very dark skin. During your consultation we will determine the best course of treatment for you based on a variety of factors such as hair color and hair type.

How many treatments will I need?

Typically, we recommend a series of six treatment sessions to provide the best aesthetic outcome. Laser hair removal technology can only affect hair in active phases of growth, so several treatments are needed to affect all of the unwanted hair.

How long will it take?

The procedure typically takes less than 20 minutes to perform depending on the size of the area or number of pigmented lesions being treated.
