What is Aqualyx

Aqualyx is a non-surgical solution for the reduction of stubborn fat areas around the body. It is a safe, effective fat-dissolving injectable treatment that is ideal to treat small, exercise-resistant pockets of fat around the chin, chest, abdomen, thighs, knees and ankles.

how does it work

Aqualyx is made up from a number of different plant-based compounds, which bind with the cell walls of the fat tissue, before rupturing them, then releasing the fat to be dissolved.

The process

The Aqualyx solution is injected into the stubborn fat areas around the body to dissolve the membranes of fat cells in the treated area. The fat cells then become unstable and break open, which results in the elimination of the fatty acids contained within the cell. The Aqualyx liquifies the released fat cell, which is then dispelled through natural body processes.

What is Cooltech

Fat freezing, or cryolipolysis, is one of the most effective treatments available to permanently remove stubborn areas of fat without surgery. The Cooltech technology works by the process of cryolipolysis, in which fat cells are frozen by a controlled cooling system – overall a reduction of fat cells is achieved.

how does it work

It works to reduce fat cells by relying on the fact that adipocytes (the medical term for fat cells) are vulnerable to temperature changes, more so than any other tissue type in our body, and thus by freezing the fatty tissue a controlled elimination of the fat cells can be caused. The body then metabolises the damaged fat cells and their contents.

The process

A protective gel pad is applied to the area being treated. The Cooltech applicator is then placed on the treatment area to encapsulate the fatty tissue to be treated. The controlled cooling can then commence. Once the session is complete, the applicator is removed and the area is massaged to further help break down the fatty tissue and stimulate lymphatic drainage and thus aid recovery and improve the result.

How Laser Hair Removal Works

Our Elite+ laser device emits light energy through the skin which gets absorbed by the pigment in the hair follicle and hair shaft. This light energy damages the pigmented hair follicle and impairs its ability to grow. Hair follicles in the anagen phase will have more pigment, therefore absorbing more light energy and responded best to laser treatment.

It’s important to have multiple laser treatments to treat your hair during its active growth stage.

Benefits of Elite+ and Cynosure® Elite+™ Laser Hair Removal

Fast

The Elite + laser has spot sizes of up to 24mm to provide fast treatments across large areas. The laser also offers a smaller spot size for smaller areas such as the upper lip.

Effective

The Elite+ has two different laser wavelengths to treat patients of all skin types and tones.

Safe

Elite+ has been used in clinics for many years and is proven to be safe in many clinical publications.

What to Expect

Before coming in for your treatment you must make sure the area is freshly shaved, this allows for more energy to be delivered to the hair follicles. During your treatment your practitioner will guide the device over the treatment area, you may feel cold air throughout the treatment and you will hear a slight beep as the laser delivers the light energy to your skin.

It is normal to feel a slight snapping on your skin, like a rubber band, as the energy is being delivered.

After your Treatment

The hair follicles that absorbed energy from the laser will be damaged and any hair present in the follicles during treatment will fall out over the next couple of weeks. This will also impair future hair growth from this area. As the follicles in the transitional and resting periods return to the active growth phase, you will notice some regrowth but not as thick as before. This regrowth will become thinner and lighter after each treatment.

How your Hair Grows

Hair grows within deep hair follicles, and grows in a three-phase cycle.

Anagen Phase

This is when the hair actively grows, this can last several months and is the best phase to start laser hair removal.

Catagen Phase

This is when the hair bulb regresses and begins to shrink.

Telogen Phase

This phase can last a few months and is when the hair is resting. The hair is released from the follicle and will then cycle back through the Anagen and Catagen phases.

Hair growth varies between each individual, but the length of the hair growth cycle is dependent on the area of growth. Hair on your head will have an active growth phase of several years, whereas body hair will have an active growth phase of a few months.

Laser Hair Removal FAQ

Am I a good candidate for laser hair removal?

Different lasers can effectively treat different skin types. Our laser can be used on a wide range of skin types from very light to very dark skin. During your consultation we will determine the best course of treatment for you based on a variety of factors such as hair color and hair type.

How many treatments will I need?

Typically, we recommend a series of six treatment sessions to provide the best aesthetic outcome. Laser hair removal technology can only affect hair in active phases of growth, so several treatments are needed to affect all of the unwanted hair.

How long will it take?

The procedure typically takes less than 20 minutes to perform depending on the size of the area or number of pigmented lesions being treated.

How Laser Thread Vein Removal Works

Using the latest technology, the Elite+ laser from Cynosure®, we can achieve fast, effective removal of thread veins.

The laser delivers light energy into your skin which is absorbed by the blood within the targeted vein. Once this energy is absorbed by the blood the vein will heat up, causing the vein walls to collapse and disappear.

For larger veins, an alternative treatment may be required, called sclerotherapy. Click here to find out more.

Treatment Benefits

We use the state-of-the-art Elite+™ laser from Cynosure®. The Elite + combines two laser wavelengths to provide a variety of laser treatments, effectively, safely and efficiently.

Safe

The Elite+ system has been used in clinics for many years, and is proven to be safe in many clinical publications.

What to Expect on the Day

Before your treatment a gel will be applied to the area being treated, this ensures the laser is delivered appropriately and will cool the area during and after the treatment. Your practitioner will move the laser over your skin and pulse the energy as they follow the length of the vein. Safety goggles will be provided to protect your eyes, but you may still see flashes of light.

You will feel a mild sensation and heat during the treatment, but cool air can be used to help with the discomfort. The vessels may blanch, grey or change colour immediately but these will fade in about ten to fourteen days. Patients find this procedure comfortable and can return to normal activity immediately afterwards.

Dermaroller logo

At Aspire Clinic your stretch mark reduction can be treated in one of two ways; through the use of a laser, or a treatment called Genuine Dermaroller™.

Stretch marks are a form of skin scarring and are associated with pregnancy, obesity, puberty, and short-term weight gain. They form when the Dermis, the middle layer of the skin that maintains shape and elasticity, is stretched more than it can tolerate. Scarring is caused when the connective fibres in the skin eventually break.

How it worksWhat to expect

How does Genuine Dermaroller™ Work

This procedure targets scarring skin using hundreds of micro medical needles. Each needle punctures the surface of the skin stimulating the skin’s own collagen and elastin production.

What to Expect

The Genuine Dermaroller™ procedure tighterns the skin surface as part of the skin's naural healing process. By boosting the skin’s own natural responses Genuine Dermaroller™ is a very safe procedure that gives long lasting enhancement to your skin’s texture giving your skin a youthful, more even tone.
