In the first instalment of Diary of an Aesthetic Virgin, Aspire’s newest recruit, Christina Cullen underwent her first-ever cosmetic treatment, with some gentle anti-ageing injections.
We catch up with Christina two weeks on to find out how it all went and whether she’s feeling more like a Greek-Goddess …
It is fair to say that since having a few tiny injections to sort out the deep creases of my number 11 lines that made me look permanently cross and my laughter lines, I cannot stop looking at my reflection! Seriously, I can’t walk past a mirror or darkened window without staring at my lack of lines, attempting a frown or smiling broadly just to see if lines appear. And they don’t!
Anti Ageing Injectables
Now, I’m not saying that all of a sudden I have turned into a ravishing raven-haired beauty; but if someone had told me that smoothing out the wrinkles that come from a life of laughter and drama would make me feel so confident, I would have had it done years ago.
Two weeks after the initial treatment, I went back in to Aspire Clinic for a check up with my nurse prescriber, Jenna, to make sure everything was at it should be and to ensure that the optimal results had been achieved. Prior to having the anti-wrinkle injections, I was worried about looking completely different or permanently startled. However, Jenna couldn’t have been more pleased with the results, and neither could I.
Although I still looked like me, the difference was quite remarkable. The area around my eyes and forehead looked fresher and younger, something I hadn’t felt in years.
Friends commented on how well I was looking but couldn’t put their fingers on what was different. My children pointed out that my ‘angry face’ had gone; should I have been pleased or highly offended at that?? As for my husband, he didn’t notice, however once I pointed it out he was totally freaked out and hated it. Frankly, I ignored that one!
Delighted with the results, the effects of the anti-ageing injections will last for three to four months, after which, I shall be knocking on Aspire’s door and having it redone ready for my summer holiday.
